Most folks have heard the proverb "rare as hens' teeth." I think we should change it to "rare as an honest, competent mechanic." Jeff and his team don't care about profit when it comes to honesty; and their mechanical ability is not just better, but much better, than any of the good mechanics I have had to find over the past 45 years in a number of different cities. I have had 9 cars over the past 26 years, only 1 of them new, and I have yet to see Pella Car Care stumped by a problem. But there's another piece to the puzzle -- customer service, and Jeff and his folks are even better here than they are in the two areas I started out with. I have never seen anyone in any line of work who treats clients better than a neighbor, better than a friend, than Pella Car Care treats their customers. And not just old and loyal customers; the very first time I went there I watched the crew jump around and quickly came to think that someone must have given them the mistaken notion that I was Jeff's best friend. They have come to fetch me when I was stranded out of town with nothing to do but wait hours for my towing service. They have worked overtime -- hours, not minutes -- when I needed my car for urgent personal business the next day. Whenever I have called them about a problem (over 26 years, quite a few times) I already know what the first question will be. "Are you OK? Do you need a ride?" If I ever have to move out of town and live far away, when my car has trouble I know I'm going to be a lot more worried than usual (and I'm a worry-wart), because my first thought will be that Jeff and his team don't have my back anymore.
